The project involved structural steel fabrication, civil strengthening works, and restoration interventions within a heritage commercial structure located in the Fort precinct of Mumbai. The work required integrating new structural systems within an existing building framework while preserving the architectural integrity of the heritage facade.
Ador House is situated in a dense commercial district with limited site access and a structure that required strengthening without altering its historical character. The key challenge was to reinforce structural elements and introduce new steel systems without disturbing the building's architectural identity or disrupting surrounding activity.
A carefully planned structural reinforcement strategy was developed in coordination with the consultant. The solution focused on introducing steel support members, strengthening existing load-bearing components, and executing civil interventions with minimal disturbance to the heritage structure.
Fabrication and installation of structural steel components were executed in a controlled sequence to ensure structural stability throughout the process. Civil works were carried out alongside restoration activities, with continuous monitoring to maintain alignment with consultant specifications and heritage preservation requirements.
The project successfully strengthened the building's structural framework while maintaining the architectural identity of the heritage facade. The completed structure now offers improved load capacity, enhanced durability, and continued usability for operations.
